An essay about the myth of the last surviving global power, miles away from contemporary pop culture and clichéd imagery. It is the portrait of a nation illustrated by a variety of fragments from everyday life, granting us an intimate look into the American backroom, into fringe areas, small towns, backyards and industrial districts. A pure, richly detailed film experience, meant for watching, listening and marveling, associating and thinking about the current mood of a changing global power.
