Biography

GERMAN:
Blaque Unit kam zum ersten Mal Mitte der 80er Jahre mit elektronischer Musik in Berührung und wurde besonders Anfang bis Mitte der 90er durch Breakbeats und Drum&Bass aus UK geprägt. Diverse internationale Künstler beeinflussten ihn seither mit hypnotischen Sphären, aggressiven Gitarren-Riffs oder auch stampfenden HipHop-Beats. Natürlich trug auch die Mainstream-Pop-Kultur ihren Teil zu seinem heutigen musikalischen Bewusstsein bei, wobei die Komponente elektronischer Klänge den durchgehend höchsten Stellenwert für ihn hatte.
Schließlich begann er 2002 unter dem Pseudonym "SCHWARZarbeit" mit dem Produzieren eigener Tracks. Nach Mitbegründung des Net-Labels "Tonkultur Berlin" und der Kreation eines neuen Alter-Egos "Blaque Unit", erschien 2009 sein erstes Release, worauf weitere folgten, sowohl bei Tonkultur als auch auf anderen Labels.
Sein LIVE-Debut spielte er im Februar 2011 in der Maria in Berlin neben Headlinern wie Dom B (Stanton Warriors) und Westbam.

ENGLISH:
In the mid-80ies Blaque Unit got in touch with electronic music for the first time and got influenced by Breakbeats and Drum&Bass from the UK during the very early to mid-90ies. Since then he received a lot of inspiration by various international artists and their hypnotic spheres, their aggressive guitar-riffs and their pounding hip-hop beats. The mainstream-pop-culture took its part in his today's musical consciousness, too. Nevertheless, the component of electronic sounds always had the highest value for him.
In 2002 he finally began to produce his own tracks under the pseudonym of "SCHWARZarbeit". After the co-founding of the net-label "Tonkultur Berlin" and the creation of his new alter-ego "Blaque Unit" he published his first release in 2009 which was followed by more on his home-label and on others indeed.
He was playing his LIVE-debut on february 2011 at Maria in Berlin besides headliners like Dom B (Stanton Warriors) and Westbam.
