  • Bio

Forgotten Works has been making high-energy rock music since the winter of 2005. Beginning as an acoustic duo from Eugene, OR, visual artist David Norem and audio engineer Dan Reyhle strive to create music with origin; songs about people, places and experiences. The pair was later joined by area bass player Bret Wiedner and drummer/brother Pat Reyhle. Since then, their sound has exploded into alternative rock-meets-storyteller songwriting with a robust rhythm section, grungy guitar work and folksy vocal harmonies. During their five years as a group, Forgotten Works has played shows all over Oregon, shared the stage with other high-energy acts such as Split Lip Rayfield and Hillstomp, and worked up three official CD releases. They just finished their third full-length album on their self-run label, Lonely Room Music, due out November 2010. Forgotten Works prides themselves on handcrafted songs and an “in-the-moment” musical energy that lights their live shows ablaze. Concerts and CD releases are almost always accompanied by stunning and relevant visual art such as paintings, video and sculptures, all hand-made in Eugene. .. .. “…a stellar musical camaraderie” –Eugene Weekly 11/07 .. .. .......... .. .. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- .. About “The Key” .. .. “The Key” is the second full-length release from Forgotten Works. It marks a new chapter for the band, as it is a departure from their debut, “Last Days of Smoke & Thunder” (2007). “Last Days” was assembled from early FW material, and also songs that pre-dated the group with a straight-forward acoustic rock philosophy. “The Key” is a collection of songs that are 100% Forgotten Works, as these tunes were born out of the bands 3+ years of constant gigging, recording and writing together. Explorations in the studio and better creative chemistry provided much room for moods, tones and an overall vibe not heard on “Last Days”. Songs like the title track and “Pincher & Scales” weave dark themes in and out of light with powerful lyrics and raging guitars, while other tracks like “Gold” and “The Bridge” provide somber moments drenched in vibrant sonic color. Forgotten Works also returns with some foot-stompin’ roots tunes like “Find What You Seek” and “Western Horizon”. Available on Cdbaby.com, iTunes, and CD World/House of Records in Eugene. .. .. .......... .. .. About 'Any Old Day' .. Forgotten Works' latest release for Lonely Room Music presents a whole new direction for the group, as the format now includes a rhythm section, and a wiley, alt-grunge-meets-storyteller folk sound. The songwriting of founding members Dave Norem and Dan Reyhle has evolved itself around the musical company of old friends, 2 in particular, each a part of this band's deep roots in creating rock music. Mark Tarlton, Bay area drummer/production extraordinaire, (and past band member of Dave's) slams the kit for a majority of the album, while Eugene bass player Bret Wiedner (a life-long collaborator of Dan's) adds a third thread to the string-work of Norem and Reyhle while thumping a foundation behind dual guitar/vocal delivery. Songs like 'What Is Real' and 'Anchors' soar with grungy sonics and heavy tones while maintaining the acoustic, storyteller vibe that has always been Forgotten Works' specialty. 'Any Old Day' is available in NW Independent record stores, iTunes, CD Baby.com, Amazon, and other major distributors November 22, 2010! .. .. .......... .. .. .. .... .. ..

  • Super Happy Funtime

Super Happy Funtime Burlesque is heading on a 33 day national tour this August!!

But we can't do it without your help. The cost of putting an 18 member show on the road is immense, way more than taking a four piece band or a family on the road for a few weeks. We are having a pledge drive to raise funds. Its easy, simple, and awesome!! Please check the link, we are offering up all sorts of great things in return for your pledges like tickets to the show, pasties, CDs and DVDs of the show, nude photoshoots with the dancers, songs written about you and performed on stage, all sorts of awesomeness!!

please check out the link right away!
