GERMAN Am 1. Juli 2006 trafen sich Dirk, Max, Stefan & Michi auf einer idyllischen Wiese im Herzen der Wetterau um die Existenz der Melodic-Death-Metal-Band SLAUGHTERFEST zu besiegeln - wobei bereits eine Idee für den ersten Song "Hunt for heads" geboren und in den ersten Proben direkt umgesetzt wurde. Inspiriert durch die Erzählung 'Sleepy Hollow' von Washington Irving folgten sechs weitere Songs, welche zusammengenommen den kompletten Handlungsstrang abbilden. Dann geschah es - im Sommer 2007: Gunnar - ein langjähriger guter Freund - wurde in die Band aufgenommen und ersetzte von nun an Dirk am Bass, welcher sich somit voll und ganz dem Gesang widmen konnte. Es folgten kleinere Auftritte, während sich die Band technisch weiterentwickelte, was auch das nachfolgende Songwriting maßgeblich beeinflusste. Leider erfuhr die Band studienbedingt einige Besetzungsprobleme, welche jedoch durch gesteigertes Engagement der Mitglieder kompensiert werden konnten. Seit 2009 verarbeitet die Band zunehmend Elemente aus Black-, Technical-Death- & Progressive-Metal, verliert jedoch nicht ihren Anspruch auf eingängige Melodien. Die passenden Lyrics hierzu stammen aus Gunnars Feder und basieren auf historischen Ereignissen. Nachdem mittlerweile der Song "Eastern Deathriders" professionell im Studio aufgenommen wurde, sollen nun zahlreiche Auftritte sowie weitere Aufnahmen folgen! In diesem Sinne: Keep it sick! Then, in summer 2007 it finally happened: Gunnar – a good old friend – joined the band, replacing Dirk as bassist. From now on, Dirk could dedicate his whole efforts to singing. Smaller gigs followed, the band technically advanced and the songwriting changed a lot, too. However, due to their studies, the band couldn't always meet for practice. As everyone was willing to take further efforts, these problems could be compensated. From 2009, the band began to add further elements of Black-, Technical-Death- and Progressive-Metal, without denying the melodic elements of the older songs. Suiting lyrics based on historical events were written by Gunnar. After professionally recording the song “Eastern Death Riders”, further records and gigs shall follow!
