    THE MARGINALS formed in October 2009, a pair of songwriters who created their own musical universe. Miguel Vilar with a background in the alternative rock (The Last International Playboys, Angus Youth) is the frontman and lyricist of the project, multi-instrumentalist musician Leco is responsible for creating the musical support that supports the stories and travels created by Vilar." Every song got a story and every story can be a song", this is the motto. The sound of The Marginals part of Folk Rock, Indie but covers other sounds like the Blues. Between late 2009 and early 2010 they recorded five demo songs that attracted the interest of the musical community and get airplay all over the world, with special emphasis in the United States: LA Talk Radio (USA), Pluto Radio (USA ) Oehrlie Radio (Germany), CTVM Radio (France) and Portugal where they were featured in the Sinfonias de Aço, presented by Manuel Melo. 2010 began in the best way for the band that decides to take the next step and record their first album "Songs for the Rebels," the recordings took place in the summer of 2010 and the album was produced by the band and Fernando Nogueira. "Songs for the Rebels," received great reviews and continued to have the support of the North American LA Talk Radio that has been rotating several songs of the album, played a key role in Portuguese show Terapaia 66, presented by Nuno Magalhães in Radio Amplitude and in the show Posto de Escuta on Radio Foz do Mondego. Described as an album full of excellent songs and that transpire Route 66, stand out songs like "Live Fast, Die Young", "Nice Boy, Gentleman," "Damaged Man" and "Hold On". Songs ideal to accompany us on any RoadTrip through dusty and deserted roads. Describe moments, feelings, weaknesses and desires, beautiful songs that range from the simplicity of a voice and a guitar and a certain musical sophistication. At the end of 2010 aroused the interest of award-winning short film director Guy Tschannen from Switzerland. Christian who offered to direct the band's first video "Damaged Man" that honors to had appear on the official Brazilian Arapa-Rock Festival that highlights independent film and Alternative rock worldwide. In 2010 the Marginals were one of the finalists of the European competition for new bands, EURODEMO SANTANDER BAND CONTEST 2016 and were also finalists in the renowned Rock Rendez Worten. After presenting some songs from "Songs for the Rebels' between 2010 and 2011 that catapulted the band to the top reaches of the Top Myspace, the band decided to toast his followers by releasing the album available for free download in the summer 2011. At the start of the promotional tour of "Songs for the Rebels" a new member arrived to the band, Dércio Cardoso reinforces the ranks of the band joining the project on the bass. During a break in the tour the band returned into the studio and recorded 3 new songs featuring single format, they are "Ghost Love", "Little Soldier" and "Silver Emptiness." ......................................................................................................................................................................................... THE MARGINALS formaram-se em Outubro de 2009 e são uma dupla de songwriters com um universo musical muito próprio. Miguel Vilar com um passado ligado ao Rock alternativo (The Last International Playboys, Angus Youth) é a voz e letrista do projecto, Leco músico multi-instrumentista encarrega-se de criar o suporte musical que dá apoio ás histórias e viagens criadas por Miguel. Todas as canções têm uma história e toda a "estória" pode ser uma canção, é esse o mote. O som dos Marginals parte do Folk Rock, Indie mas abrange outras sonoridades como o Blues. Entre o final de 2009 e o início de 2010 gravam 5 canções em versão demo que despertaram o interesse da comunidade musical e obtêm airplay um pouco por todo o mundo, com especial destaque nos Estados Unidos: L.A. Talk Radio (USA), Pluto Radio (USA), Radio Oehrlie (Alemanha), CTVM Radio (França) e Portugal onde tiveram destaque no Programa Sinfonias de Aço, apresentado por Manuel Melo. 2010 começava da melhor forma para a banda que decide dar o próximo passo e gravar o seu primeiro álbum "Songs for the Rebels", as gravações decorreram no Verão de 2010 e o álbum foi produzido pela banda e por Fernando Nogueira. "Songs for the Rebels" recebeu excelentes criticas e continuou a ter o apoio da Norte Americana L.A. Talk Radio que tem rodado vários temas do álbum, em Portugal teve destaque no Programa Terapaia 66, apresentado por Nuno Magalhães na Rádio Amplitude e no Posto de Escuta da Rádio Foz do Mondego. Descrito como um álbum repleto de "excelentes canções com refrões orelhudos que transpiram a Route 66", destacam-se temas como "Live Fast, Die Young", "Nice Boy, Gentleman", "Damaged Man" e "Hold On". "Canções ideais para nos acompanharem numa qualquer RoadTrip atravez de estradas poeirentas e desertas. Descrevem momentos, sentimentos, fragilidades e vontades, belas canções que variam entre a simplicidade de uma voz e uma guitarra e um certo requinte musical". No final de 2010 despertaram o interesse do premiado realizador de curtas metragens Suíço Christian Guy Tschannen que se ofereceu para realizar o primeiro video da banda "Damaged Man" que teve honras de figurar na página oficial do Festival Brasileiro Arapa-Rock que destaca o cinema independente e o Rock alternativo a nivel Mundial. Ainda em 2010 os The Marginals foram uma das bandas finalistas do concurso Europeu para novas bandas, EURODEMO SANTANDER 2016 BAND CONTEST e foram tambem uma das bandas finalistas do reputado ROCK RENDEZ WORTEN. Depois de apresentarem alguns temas de "Songs for the Rebels" entre 2010 e 2011 e que catapultaram a banda para os lugares cimeiros do Top Myspace, a banda decide brindar os seus seguidores disponibilizando o álbum para download gratuito no Verão de 2011. No arranque da digressão de promoção a "Songs for the Rebels" surge uma novidade, Dércio Cardoso reforça as fileiras da banda passando a integrar o projecto e tendo a seu cargo o baixo. Durante uma pausa na digressão a banda volta a estúdio e grava 3 novos temas que apresenta em formato single, sendo eles "Ghost Love", "Little Soldier" e "Silver Emptiness". Já em 2012 a banda apresentou um novo tema, "Carved" e anunciou que vai começar a trabalhar num novo álbum, irá intitular-se "Last Chance Motel" e tem edição prevista para o final do ano.
