..FOR GERMAN VERSION SCROLL DOWN....MSV Brecht, from Berlin, Germany, is a spectacular, up-and-coming band comprising Timo Vollbrecht (tenor saxophone, bass clarinet and clarinet), Hanno Stick (drums), Peter (guitar and pedals) and Bernhard Meyer (electric bass). .... The band call themselves an 'Improvising collective', their compositions covering and fusing together the styles Jazz, Rock and Experimental music. Together they strive to create minimalistc landscapes of sound, electrifying grooves and melodies driven with the beauty of their simplicity. The quartet has performed at various prestigious venues in Germany and around Europe, and each musician in the band has already made a considerable mark on the Berlin Jazz Scene. .... In October 2009 the band marked their debut-release with the album Urwaldallee, under the Cologne based label JazzHausMusik. The Portuguese bass player Carlos Bica commented on this CD: .... "When it comes to music, the further away the musician is from labels the more authentic the creative process, and the closer from the truth one seeks. This CD is about the beauty of simple things.(...)Urwaldallee is a special revelation of a musical universe which moves beyond the jazz landscape and lets itself be contaminated by other influences.". .... In 2008 MSV Brecht won first place at the winning jazz competition in Hannover. .... ..GERMAN VERSION:....Die spektakuläre Newcomer-Formation MSV Brecht bewegt sich fließend zwischen Jazz, Rock und experimenteller Musik. Die Berliner Musiker Timo Vollbrecht, Hanno Stick, Bernhard und Peter Meyer stellen die Band als improvisierendes Kollektiv in den Vordergrund. Mit ihren Kompositionen weben sie ein Netz bestehend aus ausgedehnten, minimalistischen Klanglandschaften, elektrisierenden Grooves und behutsam zusammen gedichteten Melodien. .... Jeder der vier Instrumentalisten ist darüber hinaus musikalisch vielseitig tätig. Die Musiker gingen mehrfach mit dem Goethe Institut auf Konzertreisen ins Ausland, traten auf Festivals auf, gewannen mehrfach Preise oder sind ehemalige Mitglieder des Bundes-Jazz-Orchesters (BuJazzO). ....Im Oktober 2009 erschien das Debutalbum „Urwaldallee“ bei dem Plattenlabel JazzHausMusik. ....Im Januar 2008 gewann die Band den Wettbewerbs winning jazz in Hannover. .. .. .... .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .......... ..........
