For the couple who created it Pennon Tale is further exploration along an audio timeline. Over the course of their years together music has provided a meeting point for two artists who would ordinarily document their experience separately using more visual mediums. The purpose of song has always fascinated Pennon Tale in the way maps or coats of arms have. So to incorporate into their moniker the idea of the pennon, a pennant or flag used to identify a person, which also provides clues to that person’s story, was a reference to the abstract yet descriptive aspect of personal story-telling that they hope to evoke with their songs. ....The duo here utilize a sound more geared towards harmony and song writing and less toward dissonance and improvisation than some of their earlier projects, loveparallel and Narcissist Playground. On Eyes for the Ground they use space and time to explore that place between the understood and the magical that releases their inner elation. ....
