n Summer 2001 the two swiss guys from the freaktal region, Danny Gertiser & Pelé Gasser moved into their rehearsal room. This was made up with kind support of Steve (the designer of our first demo-CD). In countless hours they stuck a 100 m2 of bloody eggcartons all over the walls!
So the two guys were fidling around with their instruments for quite a while, until in the beginning of 2003 Thorsten Burkhardt from Lörrach, Germany joined them. The first three songs (Reality, When it all turns to hate, Wake up) were made up as a three man band. The music as well as the lyrics were mainly written by Danny.
Towards the end of the year Christian Mehlin from Rheinfelden, Germany came on board, which changed the songwriting as well as the type of music. There were more mosh parts in the sound now, his kind of singing reminding of Metalcore and some lyrics were written in German too.
The whole thing only became more compact when Benny Müller from Lörrach as well joined the band in Summer 2004 and brought in new influence again.
The line up was complete and in Winter ’04 we recorded our 6 track demo-CD “Wake up”in our rehearsal room. The first concerts followed in Summer ’05, of which the “Battle of the bands” contest at the SOCA in Basel was the first.
After more than 30, some specially organised gigs, is our first album TWO FLAMES born.
After the CD-releaseparty on 30 April'08, Danny Gertiser says goodbye from the public stage. We wish him and his family all the best!
In July'08, we welcome our new guitarist Matthias.
Our style of music comes from all the different influences of ours, like Metal, Punk, Hardcore as well as Metalcore which makes it Metalpunkcore………but that doesn’t really matter all that much the main thing is the funfactor!!
The bandname $TATE OF DI$TRU$T is not against anyone in particular, although, each one of us could probably name a few on their own!
$TATE OF DI$TRU$T is in meaning of what all goes wrong on this planet we call home, social critical, in political / economical as well as in private environments.
Genocide and murder are happening everyday and best, want to be consumed from the couch. Our environment is going down the drain, people are still getting discriminated because of race and religion, the poor get poorer as the rich get richer. Further the necessary arrogance comes to it, and all that counts is money.
With a lot oft transparent hipocrisy as well as pompous ass crap we get filled up and fooled. Every now and then there’s a $TATE OF DI$TRU$T !!
