T.O.A.S.T. [Time.Over.At.Same.Time] Der Sommer 2010 bringt neben gutem Wetter und einigen sonstigen für Norddeutschland untypischen Ereignissen vier Insassen eines Gymnasiums im Hamburger Umland zusammen. Ihr Ziel ist es, selber Musik zu machen … und das ist der Anfang einer großen Freundschaft! Schon nach den ersten Bandproben ist klar: das wird keine „Nachspielband", das Material entsteht wie von selbst, eine andere, eigene, ehrliche Musik, selbst erlebt … selbst aufgeschrieben … aus dem Herzen. Nach einigen Wechseln in der Besetzung singt Lana das volle Programm aus Screams, Shouts, Growls und ihrem unverkennbaren Vibrato in der kraftvollen Sopranstimme und spielt gelegentlich auch Gitarre, Lüni spielt Gitarre und Jonas Schlagzeug. Der Sieg beim Ahrensburger „MusicStorm"-Vorentscheid ist schon mal ein Anfang. Und vielleicht findet sich sogar irgendwann noch ein neuer Bassist. T.O.A.S.T. [Time.Over.At.Same.Time] Besides providing a period of amazingly sunny weather and some other events untypical of Northern Germany, the summer of 2010 unites four victims of higher education just outside the city of Hamburg. Their goal is to create their own music … and this is the start of a great friendship! Lana takes over the vocals while also playing the occasional guitar Lüni plays guitar, Jonas drums and Laura sings backing vocals while playing bass After the first rehearsals, they are joined by Tobi who relieves Laura on bass. It is evident after only a couple of weeks that this is not a copycat band, the material writes itself, a different, authentic, honest kind of music … self-penned … from the heart. The toaster is red-hot. In the wake of their first public appearance in February of 2011, Tobi is forced to leave TOAST (due to an earlier commitment to a second band which doesn't leave him enough time for both). In April, he is finally replaced by Joshua. Not on bass, though, but playing second guitar. Then, unfortunately, Laura also gets lost along the way and Lana now sings the whole spectrum of screams, shouts, growls and the clean vocals with the cute and unmistakeable vibrato in her powerful soprano voice. Their fan crowd is growing with every gig. Their winning one of the "MusicStorm" festival qualifiers makes for a nice start. With their kind of luck they may even find a new bass player next. TOAST's music and lyrics are far from mainstream, at most times even bold.
