Tobias Hoffmann

Bio:

Tobias Hoffmann was born in 1988 in Goeppingen, a small Swabian town in the area of Stuttgart. While spending his last years at school, Tobias discovered his love for playing saxophone and music, especially for jazz music. From 2008 to 2010 he studied at the jazz department of the University for Music and Theatre in Hanover. In September 2010 he enrolled at the jazz department of the Prins Claus Conervatoire Groningen. During his studies there he can greatly benefit from the „New York comes to Groningen“ jazz program , with New York jazz teachers like Michael Moore, Don Braden, Alex Sipiagin, Robin Eubanks, Ralph Peterson, David Berkmann, Freddie Bryant, JD Walter, Joris Teepe and many others.

From 2003 to 2008 he was member of the prize-winning jazz-Quintett „Jazzico“ at the Goeppingen musical school. In 2008 Jazzico was second in the jazz-competition „Jugend Jazzt Baden-Württemberg 08“.With Jazzico he toured to Bordeaux/France (2004 and 2006) and to Foggia/Italy (2006).

Since 2004 he has also been a member of „Lumberjack“, a semi-professional bigband from the area of Stuttgart. In 2005 this band won a spezial prize in the jazz-competition „Jugend Jazzt Baden-Württemberg 05“. With "Lumberjack" Tobias played concerts and had workshop with Bob Mintzer, John Riley, Ack van Rooyen, Greetje Kauffeld, Jiggs Whigham, Paul Kuhn, Max Mutzke, Steffen Weber, Andy Haderer and many others. .. ....
