Gefangen in einer Musikszene, die von Einfallslosigkeit regiert wird, verweigern die fünf Musiker aus dem Ruhrgebiet verzweifelt die Anpassung an den Mainstream und rennen vor aktuellen Trends weg, als gehe es um Leben und Tod. Während ihrer Flucht wird ihnen klar, dass es nur eine Rettung geben kann: Black Rock. Von Januar bis April 2009 erschaffen sie im dänischen Århus zusammen mit ihrem Produzenten und langjährigen Freund Jacob Bredahl ein Album, härter als gekühlte Lava und weicher als flüssiger Stahl. Am 09. Oktober 2009 veröffentlichen Zero Mentality Black Rock über das Münchner Independent Label Let It Burn und sorgen durch eine atemberaubende und unkonventionelle Interpretation von Rock, Metal und Hardcore für eine historische Zäsur in der Musik der Affen. .. Six years after the formation of the band, ZM come to realize they are stranded on the planet of the apes. Bound to a music-scene which is ruled by absence of imagination, the five musicians out of the ruhrpott area deny to confirm to the mainstream. They run away from topical trends as if they were chased by the demons of hell, life and death. During their exodus they become aware there is only one salvation: Black Rock. From January to April 2009 they created an album together with their long-time producer and friend Jacob Bredahl in Arhus, Denmark. It's harder as cooled lava and softer as steel.
